I am relatively new to Revit.  I'm trying to create a new garage door type from an existing one by adding detail and revising the opening size.  How do I move the reference planes and dimensions?  When I move the top door the bottom reference plane moves with it.  And vice versa.  What I'm trying to achieve is to resize the opening and delete one of the "eq" dimensions so the panels are similar to what is already there.

"How do I move the reference planes and dimensions?" - you must Unconstrain them, pick on that obj. and uncheck the blue "Lock"...

Because it is hard to track down every constraint, editing somebody else's family is sometimes more of a pain than starting over.   Learn how to use constraints and plan ahead!  By that, I mean place your reference planes/lines first, don't add them later then try to constrain already added linework/objects to them.
