Is AccuRender made by Autodesk? Or could it be made by other company? If so, could it be possible if we could add other Render software to Revit?

Accurender is made by Robert McNeel & Associates. It is a stand alone product that can be used to render various formats. The version included in Revit is a scaled down version. Autodesk makes a rendering package called Viz. Revit and Viz now play well together. Check out the Autodesk website for more information. Vray is a plug-in renderer for viz or max for fast and high quallity render. It will be the same process when using with viz or max only you still have to export the 3d revit file to dwg then file link it to viz/max. In viz/max you can use the built renderer such us scanline renderer, radiosity or mental ray. if you have purchase Vray then you can use it as well but it will still be the same process. Furthermore take note that there is a revit-viz plug-in that you can use to export your material x-data from accurender and that can be read and open in viz. For max 7.5 and viz 2006 there is no need for the plug-in it is already built-in. Make sure that you have this plug-in otherwise you will be in a mess everytime you update your model.
