I am wanting to place suspended lighiting in my project that is not dependent on the ceiling, ie. hang from steel joists, concrete slabs, roof deck, etc. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks!

There is a generic roof in REVIT that has no thickness. It is meant to be used to host ceiling based fixtures. Just place this ceiling at the bottom of your structure. If you have angle roofs / beams, you will have to have face based fixtures. You could use those without the ceiling if you have them.
