I stumbled upon this one shleving family that when it was loaded into a project it was wall based and you were able to draw the length of the shelves rather than inputting numbers via properties or aligning it to reference points in the project. HOW DO YOU DO THAT? attached is the shelving family. try loading it into a project and drawing it out on a wall to see what im talking about. i notice it says "caseworkLINEBASED" is that significant somehow?

its a 2-click family. Yes the line-based is important. that is the reason you can stretch it out.
