Hello All,

We are starting a hotel project in Revit Architecture.

MEP & Structural teams would be working with AutoCAD only. I am trying to set up Rivet in order to get achieve the exact location and ucs of AuoCAD drawings.

Currently the entire site is rotated at an angle with north position, so AutoCAD drawings look inclined. As we all know that work around with UCS in AutoCAD gives us the convinient drawing positions.

In Revit I generally rotate true north angle and subsequent view would be aligned with true north. When individual buildings seperated need to be rotated use the view rotate option.

Am I making the issue clear ?

Are there any other ways to make this process more simpler. I would like to understand more about this orientation issues.

Thanks and regards,

What you want to do is start your revit model from a new project (assuming you haven't started it yet).  Make the view rotation True North and rotate the project however many degrees it needs to be rotated like you normally would.

Import the attached file into the view making sure you have Origin-to-Origin set as the orientation option.  This file will have a cross hair at the 0,0 mark of the model.  When you load in subsequent cad files, you need to be sure you use origin-to-origin so that they line up to this point.

You can set the view back to Project North when you're done to make modelling easier.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!
