I am working on some cove lighting and downloaded the .ies photometric file from a manufacturer. I set up the light source definition shape as "line" and the light distribution as "photometric web".In the family type under photometrics I loaded the ies file from the web and entered the "emit from line length" as 6' the problem is that the 3d photometric web that is displayed is orientated wrong. It is 90 degrees off in relation to the "emit from line length". All I want to do is rotate the photmetric web 90 degrees in relation to the "emit from line" light source line. The problem is that when you select one and rotate it the other rotates as well. I have searched for possible constraints and even looked in the ies file itself to see if there is a way to rotate it 90 degrees before loading the file in the light source. I have not figured out how to do this... Please help.

I hear ya. Open the family, right click on the light source to get Element properties. Then edit the tilt angle as needed. If the tilt angle parameter is grayed out, select the little button to the right of the Tilt Angle parameter value. This opens up another dialog box where you can change the parameter from Angle to None. Then you can edit the tilt value in the original dialog box. Might take a few tries until you get it facing the way you expect it to face.
