I am trying to create a pattern file and i cant seem to do it. I followed the example given in the help but when i try to import i get an error that reads " 3rd line syntax error import aborted" does anyone know why this is happening?

Here is the file as it reads now

 *Slate Tile 16" x 24".

;%MODEL.

45, 0, 0, 12, 36, 36, 12

45, -12, 12, 12, 36, 36, 12

-45, -12, 36, 12, 36, 24, 12

-45, -12  48, 12, 36, 24, 12

Any info would be of great help.

try changing your 12 at the end to -12.  They way I view the numbers is as follows:

angle, x offset, y offset, shift (left or right), distance to next repeated line, and then how long to pick the pen up.

I always have -# at the end of the line, and I think of this as the pen being picked up... It works for me, maybe it can for you...

try this:

*Slate Tile 16" x 24".

;%TYPE=MODEL

45, 0, 0, 12, 36, 36, 12

45, -12, 12, 12, 36, 36, 12

-45, -12, 36, 12, 36, 24, 12

-45, -12, 48, 12, 36, 24, 12

Here were your problems:

-You needed the %TYPE= in front of the pattern type.

-The last line, you were missing a ',' after the '-12'

After this I was able to import the pattern fine.

Need help? I'm probably in my chat room!

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!

Is there a way to preview .pat files / hatch patterns in thumbnails in a folder?
