Ive been running Revit at home now fro 3 months or so. I get better and better every day. My question is how much detail should one model into their model? What I mean is should I be using floor slabs for floors instead of trying to actually model the actual framing? Same for roofs, should I just use roof slabs instead of actually putting in trusses and so forth? I guess I could easily just use the slabs...then when I do my sections and details just detail those particular views instead of the entire model. Whats the standard way that it should be done? How is everyone else doing it?

Hi, i think you must work in revit like do you want, if you want to put the trusses and the roof slab in model when you cut the model by the sections you have the work done, you don't need to put them in the details view....

Decide what you want the model to do.

1) generally show the construction and use details for the specifics.

2) use enough detail in the model to just use call outs for the details.

3) show everything visible for a photorealistic rendering.
