Using Revit Architecure 2009:

I want to thicken the edge of a ground floor slab.  When putting a sweep on the edge of the slab, the bottom part of the profile shows (in section) below the hardcore/insulation etc. but does not cut it/obscure it above. I don't want to 'cheat' by drawing a masking object in the view.  (The ADT users will be pleased if I can't solve this one!).

Try joining the geometry.  See if that works for you.

Was this issued resolved. I am having the same issue as Vibrator72. The solution suggested by TABEST does not work for me.
