I am having bunch of trouble deleting a sweep. When i highlite the sweep and hit delete i get an error message. It says " Can't delete infilling element without deleting its inserts or host" I'm new to Revit so any input would be great.

Check properties of wall. The sweep you are trying to delete is built in the wall. Select the wall Go to Element properties, Edit Structure. Click the preview and select section view. Go to Sweep button and delete the entry.
