I am new to this site which I was introduced to during my Revit Training.

I have a 2.4ghz computer but I know that this program is very intense so I am planning on upgrading my workstation but I am not sure what the best set up is for rendering(3ds max) and Revit, so is there any recommendations?

1.Video Card

2.motherboard

3.Type of RAM (DDR2 or DDR3)

4.CPU

Any advise is greatly appreciated, THanks.

this should help with your cpu question

http://www.revitcity.com/forums.php?action=viewthread&thread_id=11806

any dual or quad core should work

DDR3 ram is more expensive, but faster. it just not widely used at the moment . if cost is an issue, i would go with DDR2 (800 mhz) and get aleast 8 megs. 8 megs means Vista operating system.

since you are making a new purchase, keep in mind that there are rumors that the 64-bit version of Revit is in beta testing. the 64 bit version of Autocad already ships with the 32 bit version.
