I have a couple of projects which were made with an old template file , is it possible to update this file to my new template file(which has a different browser organisation) whitout losing information?  When I link the project i lose some objects and the dimensions.I'm using revit archtitecture 2009.

Have you tried using "Transfer Project Standards". You should be able to get most things from your template to your project by using this. It is not exactly an "all around" solution but it should get you started.

thx for your reply, if tried it out but it didn't work. it updated everything (materials, linetypes etcetera ) but it didn't update the tree structure with all the views and sheets. The difference between our old template and new template are these sheets, in our new template there are about 40 extra sheets(and some duplicate views) to print the plans on different papersizes. Maybe someone has another possibility?

The only way is to recreate the sheets or to save the sheets out of the project. Those are the only 2 options that you have as far as I'm aware.
