I am placing foundation footings which are attached to the bottom of each wall.  revit 08 wants to place a gap where there are doors and openings.  That shouldnt be the case as I still have a slab at that location which needs to rest on the top of the foundation wall.  Anyway to get these gapos filled in?  I have looked all over for some option setting but to no avail.  Thanks much.

I think you are an architect trying to do a structural drawing or a structural guy using Revit architecture. Either case, Revit is so intelligent that it assumes you don't need a wall footing where you have door openings. Here's some ways. Extend a little bit of your wall below the slab (say -1/4"Winking. This tells revit that it needs to support that wall (not so, intelligent, ha!). Another is, as normally the case, you have a stub wall (no matter how low) below your opening and doors.

It expects you to have a wall there ...... Not a nice fix but you could have one continuous wall that you edit the profile of and drop the wall height to near 0 at the doors.  Otherwise ? How about a wall family?

Thank you gentlemen.  No i am an architect trying to get an accurate model of an exisitng building.  The project manager was questioning it AND it doens help my selling of Revit to firm.  I understand Revit's "smartness for it's own good"   BUt accuracy is more important.  I will try the work around - yet another one to add to the list.

THANKS

Same here in our firm. The weakness of Revit is always highlighted and undermining the many, many wonderful benefits. That's why there will always be opthalmologists and optometrists to help people see clearly and accurrately. Discover!
