RAC 2008

Hello.  I am working on a residential project, and I am almost finished with it except for the roof plan.  I've attached a file showing what I need the roof to look like.  I can probably achieve the look I need using the linework tool, but I would prefer it to work out the correct way.

The two portions of the roof in question should be one (1) piece.  The area to the upper left is part of an extruded roof because it is framed from a different plate ht. than the rest of the roof.  Basically, the plate ht. was determined by extending the rafters from the other section of the roof as needed to get the look we wanted for the house.

I've tried join/unjoin roof, join geometry, and just plain old experimentation, but to no avail; if anyone could point me in the right direction for this, that would be great.  Thanks for your help.

Could you put here a image of a 3D view of that roof?

have you tried putting a section through that area and zoom right in with thin lines on. I had a similar situation recently where I thought both roofs were on the same lane but were actually about 2mm apart. they have to be spot on to join geometry.
