Hi, I'm working on a residential project, and would like to have all the Crown Moldings (cornices) & baseboards in the model, as I'm doing quite a few interior elevations. The problem is that the Profile I'm using in elevation has like a million lines, and ends up too dark! (particularly along curves). Is there a way to define how a profile will appear in projection, to simplify the number of lines?? I've been using "Invisible Lines" to clean it up, but this is quite tedious... (also, how do you 'delete' invisible lines??) See attachment here... Thanks!

You need to go to Object styles and play with the line settings for the model category that you used to create your mold sweeps (I don't know if you used Host Sweep or embedded it into the walls, so I'm not sure which category will affect your particular line type). Settings > Object Styles. My guess is you'll be looking under either Walls > Wall Sweeps You can also play with the line weight settings: Settings > Line Weights The tab under perspective line weights will be most interesting to you. Note this will affect your ENTIRE model. HTH!

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! |

Tip: Simplify your profile for your int. elevation use. Then in your detail/drafting view (w/c is normally a larger scale) do as many lines as you want. Decide on whether you want to show profile lines on a smaller scale (that crowds the view and look like a thick line) or just show a blow-up detail where you would need them. Use linework <By category> to show again invisible linework.

I'll agree with mhans on this; you're not going to be showing all those lines in an 1/8th" scale int. elevation. Maybe at a 1/4" and definitely at a 1/2" which is a detail view at best.
