This is our first project in which our MEP and Structural are using Revit as well and I've been trying to do a material keynote for beams and foundation walls for our wall sections and the keynote tool will not recognize those as objects in which to identify. Is there something I can do to the link to allow me to call these materials out or is this something they need to do to their model?

In the properties for the Keynote Legend, did you check "Include Elements from Linked files"?

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!

Hi,

Tags, as far as I know, can only be done in the actual model not links. link limits you to just viewing the model and edit  like operations are all done on the original model especially when you are in teams (worksets).

I verified that this is correct.  You can not tag linked elements, you can only have them appear in a schedule.  Sorry for the bad news Sad

I figured that was the issue since a few other Revit projects in our office (in which MEP and Structural were not onboard with Revit) were able to be tagged like our project standards. Thanks for the input.
