Hi,

On one of our computers Revit 2008 architecture just shuts down without any warning or option to save,

this happens about once every 2 days,

any ideas why this is happening?

Kind regards,

It sounds like you hit the wall on your memory.  If you can't increase that on your machine, you can do some other things.

- Keep the number of REVIT views open at one time to a minimum,

- try closing other programs that you are running at the same time,

- close REVIT at least once a day and restart it.  I understand that minimizing REVIT on occasion may also release working memory.

- use worksets and onlt load what you need

- clean up your project and get rid of un-used families.

If your running revit on a dual core machine and you're multi-tasking, assign CPU 1 just for your revit only and the rest to CPU 0. That will lighten up your PC for revit.

Yeah, use "SMP SEESAW" for dual-core or quad-core, it's very usefull....
