I have 2008 on my machine and am doing a job that needs to be in metric.

I have only the imperial installed.  When I go to reinstall that part of the package it says that revit is already installed.  I have found a library of revit struture content for 08 online and have downloaded it but it is all in one big unorganized group.

Does anyone have a suggestion of an easier way than having to go reorganize all of these families?

I thought we'd never do a metric project.

Now I know better.

 Would appreciate the help

THanks

??? I'm actually not sure, you can switch your dimensions to read in metric, you can format each of your value fields in schedules... so I'm not convinced that you need to go to metric... couldn't you build it via inches and feet, and then switch up at the last minute before a deliverable?  Just a thought... work whith what you are used to working in, and then before printing a deliverable, switch your project settings such that length is in metric... just beware of any dimension types that do not use project settings...  good luck

My main concern is that my family names and object types won't convert like a W14X157 or whatever changing to whatever it's equivelant would be W155X943  or however those are made up sizes but that's my real concern.

Maybe try reinstalling to one machine... see if you can customize the install to install both
