I have linked a structural model to my architectural model.  In a building cross section, some of the structural reinforcing is showing up in walls beyond my cut section.  I can eliminate them if I change the clip range to 2' but I need the clip range at 16' to show some architectural elements in elevation on my section.  I have not found a way to turn off all the structural reinforcing from the linked file in my architectural model which would be the best as I do not need the reinforcing on in any of my drawings.  I looking the VV menu under the linked Revit model but doesn't seem to be a model category for reinforcing.  Am I missing something?????

Thanks

The first thing you need to know is how the reinforcing was placed in the structural model (ie: model elements, detail components, model lines, drafting lines?).  This will tell you where to look in the VV/VG menu.

Now, go back to the VV/VG dialogue in the model with the structural linked in.  Go to the "Revit Links" tab.  To the right of the structural model, select the "By Host View" and change it to "Custom."  Then go to the appropriate tab and turn off your reinforcing.  Hit OK back to the canvas area and you should be good to go.

Let me know if this doesn't work.  GL!

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!
