I was wondering if there was somewhere a tutorial on how to create a parametric family in revit. thank you!

Hi, What kind of family do you want? you can go to YOUTUBE, there are several video tutorials from revit...

There is some information in the help files, but the only real way to learn is to get your hands dirty... I recommend starting with Generic model families, as they don't come with too much extra B.S. The most important thing to know in a parametric family is order of precedence (Reference planes, reference lines, Geometry, Model & Symbolic lines). If you place a labeled dimension between a reference plane and a reference line, the reference lie is the piece of the family that moves when the labeled value changes. With as many books as I've read, I learned more from experimenting, than from reading... So good luck, have fun, etc.
