Addition to a small, rural library and we are going to roof over the entire bldg.  I built the model of the existing building and selected demo for the roof.  When I add the new roof in the new construction phase, the walls do not want to join to it because they are already joined to the demo roof.  How can I make an existing walls attach to an existing roof for a demo drawing and to a new roof for the proposed work?

Are you really demo-ing the roof structure or just the roof finish?  If it's just the roofing, then split your roof into two components.   If you are demo-ing the structure, why not use the same roof for both new and demo plans?  Just handle it with 2d work or by over-riding in view how the roof looks.

If you are demo-ing the structure and the walls have to be changed to meet the new structure, then you might try to do using design options.

Thanks for the response.  We are demolishing the roof structure and putting on a very different roof.  Design options is probably the way to go, but as a newbie I have seen it done but not played with it yet.
