In the last couple of rederings that I have done, THere has been this grey surface that has emerged on my topo and model. I have no clue what it is. It looks like it could be a ground plane, but upon further inspection it's not. See if someone can help. Thanks.

Sorry i can't spot what you're referring to as i'm not sure what its suppose to look like. If you highlight the anomaly could be a little easier?

Mr. Spot,
The area highlighted in red. That is the surface that I am talking about. Thanks in advance.

OIC,
Really obvious when you know what your looking at.
This surface doesn't show in your shaded/hidden line views?
If not then it will be something to do with the rendering settings? you mention its not a ground plane? Is ground plane turned off in Rendering Settings-->Environment? and Advanced Model Graphics/Sun and Shading settings?
The only thing i can think of is the actual camera setup/clipping...
HTH.

No I have turned the ground plan off, I didn't think it could be the camera, seeing how it had not done this before up unitl now, I checked all the camera settings dropped even new cameras, and it's consistant, that grey whatever is still there. I will have to keep on trying. Thanks.

If you have created 2 topos (to murge the two Existin & New to model correct batter), you might need to turn phasing to new construction in the 3d view?
HOW TO USE:
I have been told when working with topo & you need to model in 3d & not see the paper thin edge so you can model correctly,
you need to copy existing topo then paste in the same spot the difference 1 topo is existing & the other is new (do by changing the the exising one before you paste the other in), once you cut the outling of particular platform, you select the exising topo & change points to come up/down to New topo.
Chris
HOPE THAT MAKES MORE SENCE.

There are two settings for ground plane - Refer my second post in this thread.

yep...... the ground plane was turned under advanced model graphics.
i guess i didn't realize you have to turn on cast shadows to reach that option.
thanks.
