What I mean is , is we have created symbols and tags for electrical fixtures. One of our electrical engineers started using disciplines early on in the project not fully understanding what this would mean for the future of the project. Basically the symbols look nice and black when the electrical discipline is in effect for a particular drawing. but the tags and text is all grayed out like its not part of the electrical discipline. See attached screenshot for an example. Also some of the items she has placed disappear when the architectural discipline is activated for the same drawing. Is there some way to tell objects what discipline they are? Thanks for the help.

I second this exact same problem, only in RAC 2009.  I need to make model lines exist under a certain discipline while I'm working on files given to us by a MEP firm.  As far as I can tell, there's nothing worth changing in the model line properties,  so is it possible to make a new system family for multi-discipline lines?

It wouldn't even be that big of a problem,  lines that are out of the intended discipline can still be drawn and edited - the problem is that you have to ctrl+select them one by one.
