We're in the middle of our first Revit job currently. I browsed through the content here on the site and have found a family for most of the symbols we're needing. I downloaded one the other day, but for some reason when I go to insert it into my drawing, all that displays is a circle with a line through it, like I'm not able to insert it anywhere. Am I missing something small here guys? Please help!

That's the same sign you get when you are not supposed to do something.... You are probably trying to put something in a plan view that you should be doing in an elevation view or visa-versa. Switch your view and try it again.

or it was created as a planar hosted annotation. you will have this from time to time on here.
