i am trying to open a file it says, " Data in file Gas Station.rvt is corrupt and needs to be manually recovered.  Please contact Autodesk Support." Does anyone know how to recover this file without contacting Autodesk?

Contact AutoDesk ... unless you are running a bootleg copy.   In that case, you get what you sow.
