Just want to ask a simple question..Once we split the wall, can they be joint back as one entity of wall? The question is asked because we tried to draw some wall reveal (as keylines) to some portions of the wall but some other portions of the wall (same surface) have to be in stone wall. because the portions of the stone wall is rather scattered, we are thinking of spliting the wall first and do the wall reveal later....However, it seems like we can't joint back the portions of the walls (split previously as one wall entity) and the wall reveal have to be done separately....over and over other parts of wall which are splited...just want to confirm that... Thanks in advance

Yes you can as long as there is no reveal yet on it just click either of the splitted wall then double click the blue dot at the split joint then it will go back to one wall entity again. In your case why split the wall? why not use split face tool if some part of the wall need to have different finish take note also that you can adjust your reveal to not follow the whole length or hegiht of the wall.

Please elaborate on this.

Thanks

The inital placement of hosted reveal or sweep is that it will follow the full length or height of the wall however you can edit the sweep/reveal to only cover certain length or height of the wall by clicking the sweep/reveal then dragging the blue dot to your desired location. You can also make a return at its end if needed.

Arnel, Thank for such a simple trick.. Haha. I always thought that reveal is rigid and not flexible and never push hard to find a solution to it. In this case, it is far more easier by flexing the reveal key lines insteads of spliting the wall and let the reveal keylines go the edge of the wall. As for the stone wall, as you mentioned, we will used split face and paint... Too bad, split face can't really put parameters on it, in this case, we can't really schedule the areas for the stone wall..not really a fan of using split face coz it can't really split up to the edge of the wall too, rite?! Anyway, in our case, I think the workaround will work just fine as scheduling is not really a priority compared to visualisation.

Yes it can split up to the edge of the wall. BTW how is construction going in Malaysia? I used to work with KLCC before during the construction of Petronas Twin towers and also Putrajaya development. I've been there for five years since 1996-2001. It was just unfortunate that I wasn't able to go to that beautiful island of yours in Penang. How I wish I can go back there and spend sometime relaxing along those nice beaches of yours. LOL Regards Post edited on 2005-04-18 09:58:35 Post edited on 2005-04-18 19:27:29

Arnel, ic, so which party you are working with? Cesar Pelli? That must be very interesting to work on the building once the tallest in the world..LOL Construction in Malaysia..very difficult to explain..I think there are a lot of happening stuffs in KL..Penang is relatively quiet, I guess...Only things that might kick off here in Peneng is the lane extension of the Penang Bridge Lane..but still very preliminary.. Too bad, you had never been in Penang..If you are here, at least I can show you places to go and nice food to eat (e.g. Penang Laksa, Rojak etc)....
