So I'm sitting on a machine with quad processors and Revit only uses 1 of them. Any means to bypass & optimize to make the program scream?

No, but you can make everything else NOT use one of the cores and isolate Revit to that one. I have a coworker who does that with some success.

yes, i use "SMP SEESAW" to isolate Revit in CORE 1 and the rest go to the other Core, turn Revit faster...

can't you just do that in the task manager?

You can, but that gets reset every time you reboot your computer. I think the other programs you can use to do it will keep those settings.

Yeah, I have it set for one of four dedicated to Revit, using the others for the system & other programs, but it seems silly, as I'm hitting any of the others at a max of 50% while Revit is bearing down 100% on a single one. I'd like to bully Revit around with all 4 if possible.

someone correct me if i am wrong but revit is not a 64 bit multitreading program yet, therefore, even when you would spread it over 4 processors it will only use 25 to 50 of the speed. Autodesk has promised that revit will be able to do this midway through the year.

I have dual quad cores and Revit uses 100% all my processor power to render. not really sure what else in the world could use that much processor power.

alabaster- can you do a screen shot of the task manager showing the 8 cores pegged while rendering in revit? i'd like to show some people at work.

Rock on, I'd love to get all four of these hopping... Is there a patch/program that could do the same for me? It seems that the folks at Revit aren't bothering to streamline with such noodly things.

I would like to see how you use the task manager to isolate REVIT to one core and push everthing else off it.
