I imagine this is due to a setting that changed some where along the line but i no longer can pan nor rotate my model using the middle button. I t just stopped working yesterday. I can still zoom in and out but have lost the other functions while pushing the shift and control keys.  Reboot does not help and it appears that it is happening to all files. Any thoughts?

If you are using a Microsoft mouse turn off Intellipoint as it overrides your middle button. Otherwise, go into your mouse settings and change the middle button to autoscroll (default). If it is a higher end you might have to enable program overrides and add the Revit.exe then set the middle mouse button.

Thanks for your help.  I have tried this and still it's not working. I reloaded the drivers and still nothing....

When I push the shift button i get a negative sign below the cursor and when i push the ctrl button i get a plus sign. I fear i have hit some other short cut keys that have put me in some other function mode.

Well, the shift and the controll when hit individualy are working correctly. Shift subtracts from your selection while control adds to your selection.

Try holding down the mouse wheel and hitting the space bar. That should cycle your view options for pan, zoom and orbit.

Thanks again for your help.  I just realized that this weekend i had adjusted my dual screen properties and one of the functions overrode my middle button. i have reverted to the old settings and it seems fine again. Sorry for the bother.
