My problem is actually two-fold.  One, I have created 6 different families of pipe bollards.  I wish to group these under one family (as a content of different sized pipe bollards).  I am having a difficult time figuring out how to do this.

Secondly, I would rather ike to create only one family of pipe bollards if I could.  I have gotten this to work before once, but any time I would choose a different size bollard, only the circle about it's base would change - not it's 3D extrusion, it simply stayed in place.

I have tried creating a pipe bollard with parameters established for height and radius.  And while the parameter for the height will adjust the 3D model accordingly, the parameter for the radius does not.  Like I said, it just creates a different size circle about it's base while the 3D object just stays in place.

Can anybody help me with this?

Study & take this family apart and you will see how it works.  You need to edit the extrusion to see the locks.

I am trying to load in a garage door, and my Revit program will not allow me to insert the garage doors.  My hard drive is allowing me to save it into a family, but the program will not allow me to install the door into the floorplan.  Any suggestions?

Thank you for your reply WWHub.  I had actually done as you mentioned with a similar pipe bollard I had download from this very site.  I did not have much luck trying to reverse engineer it to create a family of different sized pipe bollards.  As I mentioned before, I got the size of the circle I used to draw it to change each time, but the 3D form itself would not.

I did manage to resolve this issue though.  What I ended up doing was simply trying another family type.  I opened the Structural Steel Columns and modified a simple pipe-column and that worked great!  I was also pleasantly surprised that they already had a family of a couple SCH40 steel pipes that we use ourselves for pipe bollards; complete with specifications and wall thicknesses included already.

Thanks!
