ALL OF RUGI'S SYMBOLS WERE MOVED TO SYMBOLMACHINE.COM. WHEN RUGI AND ZOOGDESIGN JOINED WITH AUGI THE FAMILIES WERE NOT AVAIBLE ON AUGI YET. SO TRY THERE AND MAYBE SEE IF AUGI HAS THE KINKS WORKED OUT OF THEIR EXCHANGE AREA IF SO YOU MAY FIND MORE THERE AND THERE IS ALSO A FAMILY AREA AT AUGI WHERE USERS TRADE BACK AND FORTH. IF YTOU NEED SOMETHING IN PARTICULAR AND CANOT FIND MAYBE DO A POST IN THE ASECTIONA ND SEE WHAT YOU GET.

Hi there, I've found a newish company online where you can buy and download general and manufacturer specific revit families, so you could have a look there and see if they've got what you're after... broutek.com

Personally a family component would want to be perfect before I'd actually pay money for it. I'd want it to be able to schedule everything I need, have parameters for everything, have all the materials setup, have nested detail components setup (depending on the object of course). Otherwise its just easier to make it yourself to your own standards and protocols. Families are the fundamental part of revit. Having a library of pieces all made by different people have no standards meaning your drawings are going to look ordinary to say the least... Just create what you need when you need it and follow a protocol. My 2 cents.

I agree with Mr Spot. Its a better solution to be able to create something you need rather than relying on someone else to give it to you. In our office we have people designated to making component families. That way when we need something we can get with that person and have a family created. Works pretty good for us.

I am student new to Revit and I am also looking for more families. I looked at symbolmachine.com, but I am seeing very similar families to what is here on revitcity. I am looking specifically for a large boat/ship. Anyone have an suggestions on where I might find a family?

www.CADdetails.com is pretty new I think but they have a bunch of families for download. It's pretty extensive, and better yet, it's free.
