In AutoCAD whenever I wanted to bring something from model-space into paper-space, all I had to do was select the entities within the viewport and change it from there. But when I try to copy and paste something from a view into a sheet within Revit 2008, it won't let me. Is there a way I can do this?

don't try to copy the view but just do in the following way. 1 derieve a sheet of ur choice from the View Tab of Design Bar. 2 than in the Project Browser under Sheet (all) right click on ur derieved sheet. 3 select the option add view 4 an option box will open on ur screen with all the views in it, just click on ur desired view & click on the tab "add to the sheet" 5 ur desired view will be added to ur sheet.

Thanks for responding chiragpkig, but if I understand you correctly I am not sure this is what I'm after. I understand you can make a sheet with a view of your text and edit within that view. But what I'm doing is making the text on the sheet itself. What I just happened to do at the time was, I made it within a view without realizing it and then I couldn't figure out a way to move it to a sheet without retyping the whole thing again. This got me thinking and wondering if there was any easier way to move text or anything for that matter from a view into a sheet itself without creating a viewport on the sheet. Any suggestions?

in the view, click on the text to edit it, copy the text (ctrl+C). Go to sheet, place a new text and ctrl+v to paste the string into the new text. Only way I know of to transfer that information from view to sheet.

Ok, thanks Tabest! That's pretty much what I had to do last time but I thought I would put it out there and see if there was a shorter, less time-consuming way. Thanks for all your input! Mars

I know this is an old thread, just found how to copy text from model view onto sheet.
1. On the model view, select the text which you want to place them onto a sheet A-1, using Ctrl c to copy it onto clipboard.
2. Open a new Drafting View, using Ctrl v to place it onto that view, then make it a Group such as test-01.
3. On that sheet A-1, draw a line and create a group, test-02; then select test-02, in “Properties” click “Edit Type” to bring up the Type Properties window, in “Type” change the test-02 to test-01 and click OK, you might need to zoom out to find it.
4. You can use the same process to place a filled region onto a sheet.

This is a SUPER old thread but reading through it gave me an idea for the same problem in Revit that ended up working nicely so here it is.
Copy text and callouts from plan view into a drafting view of the same exact scale.
Place the view on your sheet and move accordingly to lign up with your drawing.
Boom! Problem solved!
Hope this helps someone somewhere
