Hi all, I’m trying to create a roof on an octagon shaped building. The kicker is I want to have a gable on each side of the octagon. So it go like this; valley, ridge, valley on each side of the octagon, all around the building. Do you get my drift? Thanks in advance, Alan

I would do 8 in place roof families, one for each segment, using the blend tool where one edge is the outside edge of the roof and the other as the center.

Hiroshi, Not sure I'm following. But I did try to create it in 8 and 16 pieces, but it did'nt work either way. The issue is the gable on each side. Did you draw an octagon and try it? Alan

Hi, I hope I have understood the problem properly. First create a footprint roof for one side of the octagon using slope arrows to define the slope going towards the peak...you will need 2, one for each valley. Then just array this side to complete the octagon roof. Regards, Phil
