We had a building scanned and the point cloud was changed to polymeshs in autocad.  Are polymeshes the same as NURBS?  Here are the things I have tried:

importing this into a generic model family, then importing into a project and then using roof by face.  I don't know how to select individual faces since it is a family.

Importing into a project as a in place mass, it says it has too many edges and won't let me finish the family.

I imported straight into a project as an autcad file, not as part of a family, still can't select faces.

How can I do this?  Or do I need to make the polymesh into NURBS somehow?

thanks,
