I have created some in place trim around some of my windows.  When I created them I placed them on the windows category.  Made sense at the time.  Now the trim is showing up in my schedule.  Is there anyway to remove this without deleting the object in the model?  I would like to keep it under the window category.  Because, technically it is part of the window and would like it off if I turn my window off.  Ideas?

Thanks,

Lorne

Depending on how you made them, you can filter them out of your schedule. I will explain all the steps, not knowing exactly how you created the trim.

1.  Go to your schedule view, right click and select "View Properties".  Select the Edit button next to fields.

2.  Add all the fields to your schedule (because I don;t know what information is in your in-place family)

3.  Look at the schedule and figurer out what all your trim has in common.  For example, the head height might be listed as 0'-0", while none of your other windows would be.

(for the next steps I will assume head height is 0'-0" for your in-place families)

4.  Go back and remove from your schedule all the fields you do not want, except Head Height.

5.  Now, go to the filter tab.  Select Head height where it says (none).  Then where it says "equals" change it to "does not equal", then in the field type (or select from the list) 0'-0".

Click OK to get back to your schedule.  The in place families should now be gone.  If deisred, you could hide the column by right clicking and selecting Hide column, if you do not want it in your final schedule.

HTH

cheers

Yes that works great thank you.

ALso I discovered that if I change all my trim window tags to a blank...I can hide them that way too.  Basically exactly what you were saying, find something in common.  That was it. Smile  Thanks again Lizard!
