I'm having a problem with re-associating my rooms.  We have to include some interior partitions within certain groups of areas as a part of the total area count:

This worked by A. making the walls non-room bounding, and then B. using the Room Separation tool to specify distinct areas.

But I came back to the project a couple of hours later, and the walls are now room bounding, but the check-box in the properties is not checked!  This is a weird bug, and it's disrupting my area calculations.  Please advise!

We are having the same problems. Is there a solution? Has anyone addressed this to Autodesk and had any responses from them? This problem is disrupting our BOMA area calculations.

Thanks.

Select your walls that are bounding the room and check the properties. In the element propert dialog box check if walls are "room bounding". This should resolve the issues you are having.

Be sure that everyone here understands that "rooms" and "areas" in Revit are not related.  Rooms are 3D objects that fill spaces bounded by walls set to room bounding or defined by room seperation lines.

Areas are 2D objects that occur in specific types of area plans.  Area boundries are placed into an area plan via rules that respond to Revit's BOMA area type matrix, or you place the area boundries yourself by drawing them.

A walls property of room bounding cannot disrupt area calculations performed in an area plan.  Areas know nothing about rooms and rooms know nothing about areas.
