Does anybody know where I can get some White Papers on Quality Control for Arch and Eng Firms?
Or if you would like, share what you or your firm does for quality control.
thanks in advance.

This is what our office does. Each office's do things differently. So really it's whatever works best for you and the people at you firm. But this is an example.
An independent reviewer (not the designer or drafter and preferably someone not involved in the project) reviews the drawings and marks items to be corrected in RED INK. If the reviewer wants to add some notes explaining the comment; then the notes are either clouded in red. The reviewer may use a YELLOW MARKER to mark work items (like detail bubbles, notes, symbols, etc.) in the review process. Yellow marks are for the reviewer’s convenience only.
Prior to correcting the drawings, the designer will review the checkers comments and note any further explanation or adjustments in GREEN INK.
The red marks are corrected by the designer and/or drafter and marked off as corrected in GREEN MARKER. The designer and/or drafter is to make all corrections on the drawings and then check their own work prior to turning over a NEW PLOT without marks, along with the original check set to the independent reviewer.
The independent reviewer confirms that all of the RED lines are corrected or is satisfied that there is a suitable explanation for items that were not changed from the original RED line set.
The QA/QC stamp (IF YOU HAVE ONE) is placed on the original review document prior to checking. The QA/QC stamp has a place for initials and date for each of the steps above. Each step of the QA/QC must be initialed and dated by the individual who performed that step. This document is retained in the project file.
