Good day To All !

Encounter this problem when I try to render a custom Family.

I had applied aluminum accurender on this custom family and when I import it into my project file and start to render. The rendered picture shows the custom family in 'Transparent'.

Can anyone advice on this issue ?

Whatever your family materials are set as is over ridden by the materials setting in your model.  Check there.

Does it means that I have to make sure that the material applied to the custom family will not crash with the material that will be appiled to the 'model' in the project file ???

 Thanks for your advise.Cheers!!!

Yes.  The names used have to be unique.  "Glass" if defined in the project will be used on any "Glass" defined in a family.

I (imho) would set my material in the family to the "material parameter" so I could change the material in the project after loading.

Even when the names in the family are unique, they can be changed in the project.  When you load a family with a unique material, the material is loaded based on the family's settings but it can then be changed in the project.

Yup, I had already given the material of the custom family a unique name and I am able to change the material of the custom family independently when I had loaded it into the project file but the same problem still persists.

What else can I try next ?

I had attached what is looks like for your easy referance(jpg). The actual building should look like the one shown in the PDF format.

This appears to be a shaded view - not a rendered view - In the project - under materials - look at the material in question and make sure the transparacy box is set to 0.

yes,you are right. The one in PDF format is suppose to show that I should be able to see the Custon family which is the wall cladding but in this case when it underwent the rendering process,it seems that the custom family becomes transparent. As suggested, I had also make sure that the materials applied to the custom family has it's 'Transparency' set to 0 value,
