When laying out views on my sheets, I've tried to hide many reference lines, and objects which I did not want to show when I printed. However on some pages, they either still show up when I print, or will not hide. Any suggestions?

Make sure you are not using the temporary hide/isolate (sunglasses). If you use the view properties or right click the object to get hide options from there, you should be alright and your objects will not print.
