I'm not sure what you meant by "the A3 sheet" but for whatever it's worth, when you place a view on a sheet, it will show up the size it will print. In Revit, when you view a sheet, you are seeing the sheet at 1:1 scale. Any view you place on your sheet (by dragging it onto the sheet) will appear at that scale on your sheet. If you draw a detail, and drag it onto your sheet, if it is too big on your sheet, the only way to fix that, is to change the scale of the detail. The best way to compose a sheet with details, is to start dragging them onto the sheet and see how it all fits. Often times, you will end up toggling between the views of your plans/details and your sheet. Of course, you can right-click on a view and activate it from the drawing sheet, which helps a TON.

I hope this helps a little. I I can help some more, let me know.
