So why is it that i can't apply a simple slope to a 'pad' object in the site menu bar?

I need pad and not floor.  Floor objects don't cut through topography.

suggestions?  I've reivewed the "complex slab" tutorial from eldados circa Nov. 18th 2005.  However i hope 3 years of development by AutoDESK would have generated a simplier solution.

thanks!

Hi, when you create a PAD it's just like a kind of "HOLE or BASE", there aren't no slope in there (for yet), if you need a slope in your topography site you must create them by "Toposurface" with elevation points.

well thats tedious.

Thanks Revit Team!  I mean its not like no one ever has a subgrade pad with a slope on it.  That never happens.

You can create a SLAB from the STRUCTURAL MENU and apply slopes and dips and humps etc. to it, assign a site material to it and see if that works for you.

I'll try the slab in the structural menu.  does the topography cut around the 'slab' as it does the 'pad'?

Thanks Typhoon

You welcome, you can create a "SLAB" and put slope in that, but, your topography can't cut around the slab, you must do what i tell you before, create a "PAD" around your model, then give them elevation, that's the way you can cut the site , maybe in the next RAC 2009 they resolve this situation...
