I can't find how to use logical statements in my schedules. A standard swing door frame is 11", but a standard rollup frame is 8" and a full wall panel is 20". Wall panel count will equel "wall length - ((rollup width + 1'-4"  ollup Count)+(swing width + 1'-10"*swing Count))*12/20". I need one more correction for custom frames,( maybe 20 or 30 a building) that won't work with a standard size. A simple if then statment. It must be in my syntex, and my inability to search help files and forums.

I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to calculate; maybe the smilies are throwing me off, but search for "Valid Formula Syntax and Abbreviations" in the help menu.

Sorry bout the smiles don't know how to do them either buut your search gave me Conditional Statements in Formulas never got the "if swing" part but was able to use the typical door width to make the distinction. Now I am stuck with blue text? Don't understand why "if(Model=System 500)" does not generate a yes or no condition, but "if(Door Width=3' 2"" does? Any hint? The error is that "System 500" is not a valid schedule feild, but that is the model of the swing doors.

The problem is that Revit understands a string of text to be a parameter not the actual condition. Basically you cant use text parameter outputs in formulas. If you want to use the output of a parameter in another formula it needs to be numeric of some kind (length, integer, etc). There are a bunch of a different ways that you can address this. Basically it comes down to useing another parameter that you set in line with the model #. You may want to create one called "Model #" that is just an integer or numberical paramete; set that to "500" and then use your schedule formula to search for the # nt the text string. If anybody has figured out a way to use text paramter output in formulas I would love to hear it. I think that there might be some upgrades to the formulas and paramters in 2009 but I dont know if that is one of them. On the bright side you should be able to string multiple parametters outputs into one tag in 09.... HTH Nick
