When I import a CAD file (not linked) it generally comes in on the desired level, even if it does not I can move it to the desired level.  I explode it to be able to asign a phase to the elements and it often jumps to a random (at least to me) elevation above the imported level.  I then try to move it vertically to the old level and can not.  It will only move side to side.  When I select the elements and go to properties there is not a level or level offset option.

Does anyone have a fix and can anyone describe the mechanics of what is going on?

Thanks,

Revit Architecture 2008

Ok,  I have been able to move it to the right elevation.  Here is the process.  When you explode the imported file it jumps 4'8" off of the original level.  Select all elements and group them.  Once grouped you can select the group and change the level offset.

What is the logic or mechanism at work here that I am missing?
