I am wanting to drop the rendered ground plane by 6" so that a curb is exposed without having to change the whole model... I cannot get a change of the rendered ground plane height to render as such, it always revert back to "0.00 above XY plane". In Rendering --> Settings I have defined a New Name and uner Environment --> Ground Plane --> Ht above XY Plane I've tried setting it + or - 6". WHen I OK out and return to settings, the ground plane is still set at -6". Then I go to the perspective's View Properties and under Render Scene, make sure that the altered scene name is selected. However, when I render, the ground plane is still shown at the original 0.0 height. I go back to Ground plane settings, and the height adjustment is back to 0.0 ! Also, if I try to turn the ground plane off, it turns back on! Anyone know why this is happening? Post edited on 2005-03-10 15:32:32

If you are using "Sun and Shadows" check those settings as they have a "ground plane" check box and level setting there as well. Why there are two places for these settings is beyond me and it has frustrated me in the past until I figured it out. Tom

Please, where is it exactly you find the ground plane settings for 'Sun & Shadow'? I don't see it. I'm using Revit 7.1

T- Thank You! What a ridiculous thing to have to discover. Your suggestion helped remove the ground plane, but it still doesn't allow me to define a lowered ground plane. Thanks for the much needed work around, I just drew in my own 'floor slab' ground plane.
