I have created new break line and weld symbols families for our ofice, and thought I would share them. The break line has types for a normal break line as well as round and square tube breaks. The normal break line is a detail component that uses symbols for the break and exensions so the extents will stay the same but the symbols will adjust with the veiw scale. The weld symbol has types for many different weld symbols and parameters for field welds, all-around and note tails. Let me know if you download them and find something that is broke, or if you have an idea for improvements. These are a few of my more complicated family attempts, so I am looking for some feedback.

I downloaded your weld symbol and it seems to work much better than the Revit one. The only thing I noticed is that when placing a leader on the right side, the leader does not attach to the weld symbol, there is a small gap. Have you noticed this and corrected it at all? I attempted to fix it here, but I am not the greatest at families yet. Could you take a look at possibly repost? Thanks! EDIT: Now after playing with it for a while, I don't have that same problem. I will let you know if it comes up again!

That may be something I caught and fixed after I uploaded the family. Another thing you might try is changing the Left/Right parameter to the opposite side. Left/Right applies more to the visibility in the family than what side the leader is on in the project.

I have fixed the weld symbols family, it is a little cleaner now. It uses masking regions, so it will not work with wireframe on. It is in 2008 format. Again, please let me know if you find any problems with it.

How did you fix the gap between the symbol and leader. I can't fix it so that the leader, flag and all-around symbol all intersect...as is standard for AISC.

I didn't. Everything but the leader intersects properly, but Revit attaches the leader to the edge of the geometery (even invisible lines). As far as I know there is no fix for that, in our office we just let it be like that.

Hi TJ Really nice break symbol. Can't say for the weld as I don't swing that way. Could you upload these objects so they can be found in a download search. Seems a bit of a waste to have great objects hidden in a thread. I made something pretty average and these were here all along. Cheers Matt
