Revit 2008-I have a manufacturer's window details that are .dwg's. I am attempting to import them into a Revit detail component family. (Importing straight into the project failed to work.) I get some elements as a .dwg import and completely different elements when it is saved as a .dxf and imported. Both import attempts left out most of the lines. I have exploded the detail and made all lines on layer "0". No luck. Advice? Anyone?

I don't like to directly import these drawings without cleaning them up first. First, REVIT dosn't like polyline arcs and that's what many of these details have. When you explode these dwg's the polyline segments are too small so they will not import. Therefore, I delete these polylines in autocad and make them true arc segments. Second, I blow away all of the super deatailed stuff that really doesn't mater to me. Third, I delete all hatches. And finally, I put all of the lines on the same layer so they come in as one linetype. (I usually change all of these lines to my REVIT linetypes after import.)
