Hello Everyone,      I am an electrician who came out of the field a couple years ago and started laying our larger construction projects with CAD. Just when I started getting the hang of it, they went and changed things up on me. LOL. The project I am on will be laid out with Revit. The intent is to coordinate the different construction disciplines, eliminate any collisions in the field, and make things flow much smoother. I just got Revit out of the box a couple weeks ago and have been experimenting a bit. As well I have been reading some things online. I was disappointed that the electrical content is minimal. In particular conduit, which is the biggest part of my job.     Is anyone out there doing electrical(conduit) layout?  Any thoughts to where conduit libraries may be hiding? Thanks in advance for the help, Dave

Hi Dave,

Welcome to both Revot City and the worl of Revit in general. Revit in superb in (potentially!) erradicating the problems caused by lack of coordination between various building disciplines- because the whole design team (ideally!) will be working on one unifed model.

With regards electrical components- you may want to dabble in the concepts of creating your own basic symbols / components- that way you won't be a the mervy of ready-made items / libraries- although I appreciate you may not have the luxury of a lot of time.

 Regards,

Ian
