Does any one have an easy way to figure out the Egress plath. In Acad I would just draw a Pline and list the length of the Pline, But in REVIT 2008 i Can't seem to figure out a way to create a connected line to list.

That's a great solution!

for a quick and dirty solution use the property line and tags, you can put it on a workset that won't show up in any other view...

Thanks for the Ideas.

The one from Revitop was perfect.  I knew I had read that blog message once before.

eldados,

I thought your suggestion was a nice trick but then I ran into a snag. I can't get any of the other properties of the "property segment line" comments / name and mark to schedule when I set them from the element properties. (NOTE - you can not pick individual segments, just all the segments created when you sketch them. And they don't have to be connected)

I can modify my property segement tag to have pointers to what appears to be these parameters ... but are not the same. Instead, they point to instance parameters that have to be set in the tag for each segment. Not an easy process.  This process does allow me to assign an identity to the mark parameter such as "room number" and to sort and total my distances accordingly in a schedule of exit distances.

Something wrong here in REVIT.

WWHub,

like I said this is a quick and dirty way. when we calculate eagreses we don't really schedule length and location, we just got to make sure that the path is right, normally it's the job of the fire engineer/certifier to check and approve.

you won't be able to schedule the propert line, if you do, you are better off with solution one. I have attached the tag i use, just in case Smile
