What is the best way to set up walls in a multi story building?  Should interior walls that are multistory be 1 wall?  How does that effect other people working on the project, if 2 people were working on the project, one on the first floor, one on the second, and there was a single multi-story wall, would they both be able to work on that wall?

Thanks

Mike

Well basically you should make it as it will be built. An interior partition wall should therefore be single walls on each floor.

And a followup question, do you use owners for the worksets or is everyone "borrowing" licenses to edit elements? We use only borrowing for the most basic things such as interior walls. It works fine...just borrow the right to use a specific wall and then return it...

If I set the walls up the way you're saying, and with a 2 story platform framed house, wouldn't you see the floor as a band on the exterior elevation?  How would you keep the floor from showing up in the elevations?

We haven't gotten to the point of sharing out the project yet.

Ok, I'm not sure what affect interior walls have on elevations and showing or not showing floors. Are you using wireframe? You could always just hide the floors if you dont wanna see them but it sounds like the floor has been sketched to the outside of the wall if you see it in an elevation. Still, I don't see what the interior wall has to do with it.
