Hi everybody,

First I just want to say that this forum is really great, I had a lot of starting problems using Revit, most of them were solved just by simply reading a few threads... So 'till now, I was able to manage my project without asking specific questions here, but... there's always the "BUT"....

As we are doing a reconstruction on a bridge (you've maybe seen some pictures in the gallery), I have to calculate surface areas of my objects... I will explain my problem in short:

If I have a wall 2x1x0.5 meters, Revit gives me gross area surface measurement of 2 m2. But let's say, I want to calculate all the surfaces of the wall - which sums in this case 7 m2 (am I right?). How can I calculate all surfaces of objects in Revit?

Is there a "area face measurement tool"?

Thanks a lot for advising,

greetings from Slovenia,

Milos

I believe that you should be able to do something along these lines with material take offs. (View: New: Material Takeoff) It will give the ammount of an entire material accross a project. So it could get complicated if you need surface area per face.

I havent actually tried it yet, but I believe that is what it is there for.

Hey that was quick! From now on, I'll always post another post saying it's important to me... hehe... really thanks a lot... I think I'll manage now... this material take off and wall quantities by assembley are probably every thing I'll need, just need to get to know them and maybe change a bit my line of work and that's it... great stuff.. Cya
