I want to be able to tag my curtainwall to a series of enlarged curtainwall elevations, similar to tagging windows. It would seem that I would actually need a callout tag, but hide the callout bubble. Any suggestions would be appreciated

I assume you are doing a window schedule sheet and want the curtainwalls there with the rest of your normal windows. You already have the correct process ... at least half of it. Do your callouts - place them on your window sheet and hide the callout bubble. Use a fake window tag .... just an annotation. No true parametrics here.
